Earthing matters as much. Where the supply is PME, open-PEN protection or an earth rod arrangement is needed. We assess it, tell you what the property needs, and install to suit.

How long does an EV charger installation take?
Most domestic installations are done in half a day to a day, depending on the cable run and whether the consumer unit needs work first.
Do I need my consumer unit upgraded?
Sometimes. The board needs a spare way, the right protective device and correct main earthing. We check all three at survey and tell you before quoting.
What is open-PEN protection and do I need it?
Most Glasgow supplies are PME. Where the earthing is PME, the installation needs either a charger with built-in open-PEN detection or an earth electrode arrangement. We confirm which applies to your property.
Can I charge from my solar panels?
Yes, with a charger that supports surplus charging and a CT clamp fitted at the supply. We will specify a unit that does what you want it to.
Can you install a charger at a flat without a driveway?
It depends on the parking arrangement and the permissions from the factor or owners’ association. We will look at it and be straight with you about what is possible.
