Media Walls

Media Wall Electrics in Glasgow

A media wall looks effortless when the electrics were planned at first fix and obvious when they were not. Everything visible on a finished wall is decided before the plasterboard goes on.

Media Wall Electrics — what it involves

We work alongside joiners and plasterers at first fix: sockets behind the screen, data to the panel, a fused supply for the electric fire, conduit for HDMI and future cabling, and separate switching for the lighting.

The result is a wall with no trailing cable, no visible adaptors, and access to everything that might one day need replacing.

What we provide

  • First fix power, data and TV cabling behind the panel
  • Recessed sockets and low-profile outlets behind screens
  • Dedicated supply for electric fires and heaters
  • Conduit routes so HDMI and future cabling can be pulled through later
  • LED strip and COB lighting with drivers positioned for access
  • Separate switching and dimming for wall lighting
  • Coordination with joiners, plasterers and AV installers
  • Second fix, testing and certification

Why customers call us

Common reasons for media wall electrics

  • A new build or renovation

First fix is the only cheap moment to do it.

  • An electric fire in the wall

These need their own correctly rated and positioned supply.

  • Cables hanging below a wall-mounted TV

The most common reason people start looking at a media wall in the first place.

  • Sound bars, consoles and streaming boxes

Each one needs power and data somewhere it can be reached.

  • Concealed lighting

Strip lighting behind and around the panel, on its own dimmed circuit.

  • Joiner already booked

Electrics have to happen between the framing and the boarding.

What you get

The difference it makes

Nothing visible

Power, data and AV all land behind the panel.

Conduit for what comes next

New HDMI standard in five years? Pull it through rather than open the wall.

Lighting on its own control

Dim the wall separately from the room.

Trades coordinated

We work to the joiner’s programme so nobody is waiting on anybody.

Questions

Media Wall Electrics — your questions answered

When do you need to be involved?

After the frame is built and before it is boarded. That is the window for first fix — once it is plastered, options narrow fast.

Can you work with my joiner?

Yes, and it makes for a better job. We agree positions on site with the joiner before anything is fixed.

Does an electric fire need its own supply?

Most do — a correctly rated supply from a fused connection unit, positioned so it is accessible but out of sight. The manufacturer’s requirements dictate the detail.

Can it be added to an existing wall?

Often, yes. It depends on the construction and what is behind it. We will look and tell you what is realistic before you commit.

What about heat behind the TV?

Ventilation and driver positioning are part of the design. Heat is what kills LED drivers and electronics in sealed panels.
