CCTV

CCTV Installation in Glasgow

A CCTV system is only as good as its worst camera position. Footage that shows something happened is easy; footage that identifies who did it takes planning of angles, lens choice, lighting and mounting height.

CCTV Installation — what it involves

Hard-wired systems beat battery cameras for anything you are relying on. A PoE camera on a cable does not need charging, does not drop off the wi-fi, and records continuously rather than only when something triggers it.

We survey the property, agree the coverage, run the cabling properly, and set up recording and remote access before we leave — including showing you how to pull footage off if you ever need it.

What we provide

  • Site survey with camera positions and coverage agreed before installation
  • Hard-wired PoE IP camera systems
  • NVR recording with storage sized to the retention you need
  • Number-plate capture positions for driveways and yards
  • Cameras with integrated floodlight and two-way audio
  • Video doorbells and door entry integration
  • Remote viewing on phone and tablet, set up and tested
  • Discreet cable routing and containment, inside and out

Why customers call us

Common reasons for cctv installation

  • Break-ins in the area

Coverage of approaches and access points, with lighting to match.

  • Deliveries and parcel theft

A camera covering the door at the right height and angle.

  • Business premises

Retail floor, tills, stockroom, yards and delivery access.

  • Vehicles and driveways

Number-plate capture needs a dedicated camera and position, not a wide view.

  • Rental and communal property

Entrances, bin stores and closes, set up with signage and data handling considered.

  • Battery cameras that keep dropping out

Wi-fi cameras on flat batteries are the most common system we get called to replace.

What you get

The difference it makes

Positions that identify, not just record

Mounting height and lens chosen so faces and plates are usable.

Wired, so it stays up

PoE cabling means no batteries, no wi-fi dropouts, and continuous recording.

Lit properly

We look at the outdoor lighting alongside the cameras. Night footage is a lighting problem as much as a camera one.

Handed over properly

You leave the handover able to view live, scrub back and export footage yourself.

Questions

CCTV Installation — your questions answered

Wired or wireless cameras?

Wired, for anything you actually depend on. Wireless is quicker to fit but batteries run down and wi-fi drops. A PoE camera on a cable records continuously and stays online.

How long is footage kept?

That is set by the storage in the recorder and the number of cameras. Two weeks to a month is typical domestically; businesses often want 30 days or more. We size it to what you need.

Can I view it on my phone?

Yes, and we set it up and test it with you as part of the handover — live view, playback and export.

Do I need to tell people there is CCTV?

For a business, or where cameras cover areas beyond your own property, signage and a clear approach to data handling are expected under UK GDPR. We will point you at what applies.

Can you replace an existing system?

Yes. In many cases existing cabling can be reused, which keeps the cost down. We check that at survey.
